Bears fans, add Metra to your game plan
Metra and the CTA are a winning combination for Bears fans who ride Metra and arrive at our west loop Ogilvie Transportation Center or Union Station terminals. Just hop aboard the CTA’s #128 Soldier Field Express and ride round trip for only $5.
Bears fans from the west, north and northwest suburbs riding Metra into Chicago Union Station or Ogilvie Transportation Center can board the CTA’s No. 128 Soldier Field Express for a quick trip to Soldier Field. Buses will depart from Metra's Ogilvie Transportation Center (southbound on Clinton at Madison) and from Union Station (on Jackson Blvd. east of Canal) and run express to Soldier Field. Service starts two hours prior to kickoff and resumes for one hour after the game on a load-and-go basis.
For Bears fans coming from the south, the Metra Electric Line has added a Bears Extra train for all Sunday noon games. The extra train will depart University Park at 9:30 a.m., making all stops to the Museum Campus/11th Street Station. Just get off the train at the 18thStreet Station (10:21 a.m.) and walk to Soldier Field. Click here to view the complete Metra Electric Bears Extra schedule. Regular daily train service will add a stop at 18th Street to conveniently serve the two pre-season games and the Monday night game.
For all games, the Bears Extra will depart the Museum Campus/11th Street Station approximately 30 minutes after the game and make all stops listed on the Bears extra train schedule.
Bears fans arriving at Metra’s LaSalle Street Station should walk east on Van Buren to State Street and take the CTA No. 146 bus south to Soldier Field. Regular CTA fares will apply for the No. 146 bus.
On Metra, you can score big on weekend games too! Our $10 Weekend Pass is a game saver, and Family Fares allow up to three children age 11 and under to ride free. Plus, you can buy your train ticket right from your smartphone with the Ventra App. Download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
So, next Bears game, include Metra and the CTA in your day's game plan.
